According to McLaren Team principal, Malcolm Whitmarsh, Lewis Hamilton’s win at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last weekend will lift the beleaguered driver to new heights as he moves on during his troubled season.   "There is no reason why, in my mind, he cannot raise himself to another level now," said Whitmarsh.

The British cycling team has been announced for the European Championships in Holland which begin on October 21. The Championships hold Olympic qualification points and both the men’s and women’s British teams will see the event as key to next year’s 2012 hopes.

HTC-Highroad star Mark Cavendish sprinted to his second stage victory in this year’s Tour of Britain, on Stage Eight in rain-hit London as Dutchman Lars Boom won the event overall.   Christian Poulsen has expressed his hope of forging a strong midfield partnership with new signing Charlie Adam, who arrived at Anfield from Blackpool last month for £7 million. "Charlie was a key player for Blackpool and I think he will be a good player for Liverpool as well," Poulsen explained to the Daily Record.
