David Millar's Garmin-Cervelo squad won the Tour de France team time-trial in Les Essarts to propel Thor Hushovd into the race leader's yellow jersey.     The nine-man Garmin-Cervelo team clocked 24 minutes 48 seconds as Millar's men denied Team Sky a first Tour stage win and the opportunity to take the yellow jersey.

Lewis Hamilton has vowed to do all he can to entertain the fans at next month's British Grand Prix.   Hamilton performed a notable U-turn on Monday, insisting he would not give up on fighting for the Formula One world title just a day after claiming this year's championship was all but over.

Formula One's planned introduction of 'greener' engines has been delayed a year until 2014.   Currently, cars run 2. 4-litre V8 engines, but were due to switch to1. 6-litre turbocharged machines in 2013.   During discussions, F1 bosses agreed that the new engines will also besix-cylinders, rather than the original agreement of four.
