Mike Tindall will appeal the £25,000 fine he was given by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) after a controversial incident in Queenstown during the World Cup. * * Tindall has also been removed from England's elite player squad, while Chris Ashton and James Haskell received suspended fines for a separate incident.

Paula Radcliffe has won her battle to prevent her marathon world record being downgraded to ‘world's best’ status.   Radcliffe, 37, broke the world record at the 2003 London Marathon, with two male pacemakers, and in August, the International Association of Athletics Federations decided to recognise only times from single-sex events as world records.

Everton are hoping to agree a move for want-away Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo. The Spanish under-21 international, who enjoyed a brief spell in England with Queens Park Rangers in 2008, has only featured twice this season, and according to TalkSport is seeking a move in January.

Renault has appointed Paul Seaby as its new team manager, following the recent departure of John Wickham.   Seaby, who has been the team's engineering coordinator, will work alongside trackside operations director Alan Permane at Grands Prix, starting with Abu Dhabi on the weekend of 11-13 November.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger looks set to welcome on-loan midfielder Denilson back to the club, with the 23-year-old’s spell at Sao Paulo on the verge of self-destructing.   Denilson started his career at Sao Paulo in 2005, emerging as a fringe player in side that won the Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Cup.
