SPOTY - Whose Your Money On Now?

Three weeks ago I selected my top ten for the BBC's SPOTY. It had Brad Wiggins top, Mo Farah second and Andy Murray third, with the proviso that if he were to win the US Open he would be challenging Wiggins for the top spot.

Chris Hoy was fourth, Ben Ainslie fifth, Laura Trott sixth, Jess Ennis seventh, Kath Grainger eighth, Victoria Pendleton ninth and Charlotte Dujardin tenth. Even at this point having Hoy and Ainslie outside of the top three is ridiculous, such is the nature of this year's sporting success. Now we have the Paralympics and two, if not three of the Games stars, deserve their place in the spotlight. My revised top 10 thus goes ...

 Bradley Wiggins.

 Andy Murray.

 David Weir.

 Mo Farah.

 Sarah Storey.

 Chris Hoy.

 Ben Ainslie.

 Ellie Simmonds.

 Jess Ennis.

 Laura Trott.

If the BBC decide to make it a top 20, which they should, then numbers 11-20 read ...

 Katherine Grainger.

 Victoria Pendleton.

 Charlotte Dujardin.

 Jonnie Peacock.

 Rory McIlroy.

 Frank Lampard.

 Jason Kenny.

 Nicola Adams.

 Andy Hodge.

 Pete Reed.

Never has there been such a ridiculously competitive long-list, let alone short-list. Do you have an alternative list? Let me know.
