The Great Britian junior Winter Olympics team have won 3 medals, after winnign silver in the female bobsleigh competition on the final day.
Mica McNeil and Jazmin Sawyers won silver, while their teammates the GB second team, Kirsten Emerson and Frances Slater finished fourth. It is a promising sign for the future of British bobsleigh, and both teams will be hoping to make a push for the full Winter Olympic squad in 2014.
In a brilliant display the British duo moved from fifth place after their first run, to the silver medals after really showing they could perform under pressure.
On saturday, Team GB also had a two excellent performances in one event, winning both Gold and Silver in the short-track speed skating.
The real benefit from these strong performances in Innsbruck, Austria, is not the medals, but the strength and depth in each of the medal winning events, which should lead in the future to heightened competition within the team, and therefore hopefully strong performances once the athletes graduate from the junior programme.
