Williams to Retire From All Rugby at End of Season

Wales legend Shane Williams will retire from all rugby at the end of the season, according to a report on BBC Sport.

The 24-year-old is Wales' record try scorer with 58 tries in 87 games, while he also scored two tries in four tests for the British and Irish Lions, before retiring from Test rugby ini December.

Williams will remain with the Ospreys until the end of the season but has decided to hang up his boots, despite the club offering him another one year contract.

During his time playing for Wales, Williams has won two Grand Slams in 2005 and then again in 2008, while he was also a member of two Lions Tours to New Zealand and South Africa.

The winger has always stated that he would like to move into coaching after his playing career had ended and he has previously spoken to Osprets managing director Mike Cuddy about a back room role.

Williams was named the International Rugby Board Player of the Year in 2008 and has been a consistent performer for Ospreys, scoring 54 tries for the side from Swansea.
