England Rugby's young guns have launched a unique calendar, to raise money for Help For Heroes and Combat Stress. The calendar features numerousyoung stars,such as recent British and Irish Lions, Tom Croftand Ugo Monye, Leicester's Anthony Allen and Delon and Steffon Armitage (London Irish)in 'sexy' but thought provoking situations.
The idea for the calendar came on the back of the Help for the Heroes rugby game in 2008 which really inspired young rugby stars, Ryan Lamb and Anthony Allen, to do something to support the charity and Ryan's father Alan Lamb, came up with the idea of the calendar and has helped them put it together.
The playersfeatured in the calendarare Ugo Monye, Jordan Crane, Tom Croft, Anthony Allen, Dom Waldouck, Marcel Garvey, Ryan Lamb, Olly Morgan, Steffon Armitage, Nick Abendanon, Delon Armitage and Luke Narraway.
It also features, one special service man - Lance Corporal Matthew Croucher - Matt was awarded the George Cross last year for extreme valour in risking his life to safeguard the lives of his comrades, after throwing himself on top of a grenade in Afghanistan. The aim isto raise 150,000 through the calendar.
The calendar is available to buy online at www.rugbyforheroes.org.uk, through the Help for Heroes website and the RFU has agreed to stock the calendar in the two stores at Twickenham stadium and on their online store.
