Thunder Edge Out Lakers to Take 2-0 Series Lead

The Oklahoma City Thunder continued their superb run in play-off games as they edged past the Los Angeles Lakers to secure a 77-75 win on Wednesday and take a 2-0 lead in the second-round play-off series.

It had looked as though the Thunder would lose their first game of the play-offs when they trailed by seven points with just two minutes remaining, 75-68.

However, the Lakers could not find another basket and were on the receiving end of nine straight points without an answer as they let the lead slip away.

"We kept our composure," Durant told reporters after the game. "We've been growing as a group at the end of games. This is the playoffs, every possession is important."

Durant was once again in superb form on the night as he ended the game with a team-high 22 points, including five in the final two minutes to send the Oklahoma crowd home happy.

There was a chance for the Lakers to take the win when Steve Blake was presented with a three-point opportunity with just three seconds remaining but his shot came up short.

The Lakers had lost the opening game by 29 points and will be hoping to get back on track in Game Three which takes place on Friday.
