Team GB Member Ben Gordon Scored Record-Equalling 45 Points

Detroit Pistons guard Ben Gordon tied his own NBA record scoring all nine of his three-point attempts in last night’s 116-115 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Gordon, who in February confirmed his intention to play for Great Britain, scored 45 points in the game, but it was not enough to stop Denver from claiming the win.

Gordon and former New York Knicks small forward Latrell Sprewell are the only players to hit nine 3's without a miss in NBA history.

“The guy was freakin' off the charts. Not only did he make shots, he made plays. You can't say enough positive adjectives about the job he did. He was phenomenal," Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said after the game.

Gordon's 45 points were a season high and the most he has scored since joining the Pistons in 2009, he also added eight assists, but it just wasn't enough.

He had the chance to claim a memorable win when he was presented with an opportunity from 21 feet with 2.8 seconds left, but it was just one shot too many and he missed the chance to win the game.

Point guard Ty Lawson top-scored for the Nuggets with 25 while Aaron Afflalo added 23 points.
