PRIZEFIGHTER DRAW ANNOUNCED

PRIZEFIGHTER DRAW ANNOUNCED

Boxing legend Evander Holyfield was on-hand to help with the draw for the next edition of Prizefighter that sees the heavyweights once again take centre stage.

'The Real Deal' made the draw for the popular series which sees eight heavyweights battle it out for the prize on October 9 at York Hall, Bethnall Green.

Among the heavyweights battling it out for glory will be Kevin McBride, Matt Skelton and Michael Sprott. There is also one place still up for grabs with a wildcard selection to be added at a later date.

Sprott will be returning to the ring for the first time since his loss to Audley Harrison who won the last edition of Prizefighter Heavyweights. The 35-year-old from Reading will face Danny Hughes while Skelton will face Ali Adams.

In the other quarter-finals McBride - the last man to beat Mike Tyson - will go toe-to-toe with Michael Holden while Carl Baker, the conquerer of Danny Williams in the last edition of Prizefighter, will face an as-yet unknown wildcard.

Holyfield told Sky Sports News that fans should expect some fireworks in the three-round format tournament. ""When you have three rounds you don't have time to try and extend the game - you can just go out and give your best. It is almost like an amateur (fight)."
