Neil Robertson reached his first Masters final with a 6-3 victory over UK champion Judd Trump at London's Alexandra Palace.
World number four Robertson made only one century in a semi-final that was more disjointed than free-flowing. However it suited the Australian as he went 5-1 ahead before the Englishman pulled two frames back including a 95 break. Trump missed a straightforward blue to the middle pocket and Robertson sealed the victory with a break of 69. Robertson will face John Higgins or Shaun Murphy in Sunday's final, as he looks to maintain his 100% record in finals. Speaking afterwards, Robertson said: "I thought I played really well to go 3-1 up. I thought I played really good matchplay snooker and thankfully he missed a couple," "Hopefully I can keep my run going and I'll be playing one of the two greats of the game. Either opponent, it's going to be a huge game," he said. Trump looked nervous, making uncharacteristic errors, while Robertson was relentless, grabbing the chance to extend the lead after Trump missed on frame ball, a straight blue to the corner pocket. Using all of his big game experience, Robertson remained calm as he sealed his 6-3 win, and in this form can be upbeat about his chances of winning.
