Luol Deng Named in Britain's Olympic Squad

Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng is one of three NBA players who have agreed to represent Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics. 

 

The two other NBA players who will hope to give Britain a chance of claiming a medal in London are Detroit Pistons guard Ben Gordon and Charlotte Bobcats centre Byron Mullens. 

 

London raised Deng has represented Britain since 2007, while Gordon and Mullens have made themselves available for the first time. 

 

The 21-man provisional squad was named by coach Chris Finch who will reduce the squad to 16 in May and then down to the final 12 at the start of July.

 

"We have the potential for a world-class team who will surprise a few people this summer," said Finch. 

 

"The commitment from all our players to the programme once again is great and it's also good to see our strength and depth continuing to increase year on year."
