Russian champions Zenit St Petersburg have made a shock bid for Manchester United winger Nani, reports emanating from Russia suggest.
Russian news agency R-Sport report that the Russian club have submitted an unknown bid for the 25-year-old Portuguese international, claiming an unknown source has informed the agency of the club’s ambitious intention of landing the skilful winger.
Ambitious Zenit St Petersburg have already made attempts to bring Arsenal’s Andrey Arshavin back to the club, where he spent the second half of last season on loan. In addition, the club have held an interest in Nani’s Manchester United team mate Dimitar Berbatov, and are reportedly close to signing the disillusioned 31-year-old after holding talks with him and his representatives.
Zenit boss Luciano Spalletti had previously made the club’s grand ambitious plans known earlier in the summer, where he dropped a hint of the club’s interest in the former Sporting Lisbon star Nani and Porto’s highly sought-after forward Hulk.
