Who is the Better Replacement for Van Persie at Arsenal - Lewandowski or Jovetic?

Arsenal have already signed Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud but there is still a suggestion that another forward could be brought to the club if Robin van Persie is sold in the coming weeks.

The Dutch international scored 30 league goals last season, a truly phenomenal achievement and one that would be virtually impossible for any new arrival to match, but who is the best option?

In Podolski, Arsenal have a player who can play on the left or through the middle. He has previously struggled at a big club when playing for Bayern Munich and there is little to suggest he would be sort of player to match the feats of Van Persie.

It is perhaps more likely he will operate as a supporting player either in a front three, or on the left of midfield.

Giroud was the top scorer in Ligue 1 last season and his strength and power will make him a handful for any defender. He scored 21 league goals last season as Montpellier won the league title, but the step to the Premier League has often been one to far for striker from France - think Marouane Chamakh, Djibril Cisse and Stephane Guivarch.

However, should these two work alongside another forward then they may even improve on Van Persie's 30 goals. Two options already mentioned are Robert Lewandowski and Stevan Jovetic.

Lewandowski was the top scorer in Germany last season with 30 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions. He is also strong in the air and looked impressive at Euro 2012. The only downside. He has been on the radar of Manchester United for some time and Arsenal could end up competing with Sir Alex Ferguson's side - when it comes to money there is only one winner.

He is also perhaps a little too similar to Giroud. Perhaps Jovetic would be a more suitable fit.

The Montenegro international scored 14 goals in 27 games for Fiorentina last season. At 22 he has many years ahead and will surely improve. He is also used to playing as a second striker and could be the perfect foil for Giroud. The one downside is the Italian club are demanding as much as £25million signature.

His ability on the ball and close control make him different from the other forward's at Arsenal and he could be the man that fits perfectly with Giroud and Podolski.
