West Ham to Launch Shock Move for Tottenham Defender

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is hoping to pull off a major coup by convincing William Galla to leave Tottenham for the newly promoted Hammers.

The 34-year-old has a vast amount of experience both in the Premier League and in Europe where he has represented the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Sun has reported that Tottenham would be willing to allow Gallas to join West Ham on a free transfer as they push to sign Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen.

Vertonghen has been in discussions with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for some time and yesterday Frank de Boer revealed that he expected the Belgian to complete his move.

Tottenham also have the likes of Michael Dawson, Younes Kaboul and Ledley King. should he prove that he is still fit enough to play in the Premier League next season.

Meanwhile, West Ham are desperate to strengthen their defend as they have already release Abdoulaye Faye, while Danny Collins has returned to Stoke after a loan spell at the club.

Gallas has never played for an English club outside of London and would almost certainly prefer in the capital as he looks to extend his playing career.
