Tottenham are set to demand that Real Madrid offer midfielder Nuri Sahin as part of any deal for Luka Modric who is now being strongly linked with a move for the Croatian international.
The north London club are aware that there is interest from numerous European clubs after another impressive season from Modric, and a star turn in Euro 2012.
Tottenham rejected three bids for Modric last summer from Chelsea but it seems as though there is going to be a more aggressive pursuit this season, with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all linked with the creative midfielder.
The 23-year-old Turkish international moved to the Spanish giants from Borussia Dortmund last summer but he struggled to make an impact and only made four league appearances for Madrid.
Sahin was instrumental in helping Dortmund win the Bundesliga title two seasons ago and still has a reputation as a highly talented midfielder.
Madrid boss Jose Mourinho certainly has plenty of options in midfield, but it seems he still feels the need to strengthen even after beating Barcelona to the La Liga title last season.
