It appears as though Jermain Defoe could be on his way out of White Hart Lane after Tottenham were once again linked with a move for Italy striker Amauri.
Over the past week the Brazilian born forward has been strongly linked with the north London club and the Daily Mail now suggests that should Amauri move to Tottenham then it could spell the end for Defoe.
The England striker has been in impressive form this season but has often been asked to start on the bench because of the superb partnership between Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafael van der Vaart.
Reports in Italy and Brazil are suggesting that that the Italian international is ready to quit Juventus after falling out with coach Antonio Conte.
The strikers agent Ernesto Bronzetti recently revealed that Amauri is set to turn down interest from Genoa and Palermo in order to join a Premier League side in the New Year.
The 31-year-old scored 23 league goals in 52 games for Palermo before making the move to Juventus in 2008 for €22.8million but struggled to find the back of the net as regularly for The Old Lady.
Should Amauri arrive at Tottenham in January then it is suggested that Defoe could look to make the move to QPR who have shown an interest in the former West Ham striker.
However, should Spurs continue to push for a top four finish then Defoe could decide he prefers to play a bit part role at the club rather than be guaranteed first team football at QPR.
