Tottenham are hoping to tie up another piece of business in the coming weeks after making an offer for Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles.
The England Under-19 centre-back is viewed as one of the best young prospects in the Championship and has been watched by numerous Premier League sides since breaking into the Forest first-team.
Spurs have already snapped up one centre-back in Jan Vertonghen, but it appears they are very much thinking about the future after offering Steven Caulker a new long-term deal and now bidding for Lascelles.
Tottenham have previously signed talented youngsters from Forest before when they managed to sign both Andy Reid and Michael Dawson, the latter going on to be one of the clubs most consistent performers.
However, Dawson has struggled with injuries and with the news that ledgy King may be forced to retire, it is clear that manager Andre Villas-Boas is now looking to the future.
