Tottenham Hotspur Preparing To Loan Out Highly-Rated Defender

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to loan-out the highly-rated Danny Rose, with Wigan Athletic and Southampton believed to be interested in signing him.

Rose, who featured in Stuart Pearce's Great Britain side at the Olympic Games, has reportedly been told by new Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas that there is no guarantee of first team football at White Hart Lane this season, and that he will need to seek a loan move if he wants games.

The 22 year-old, who emerged as one of the most exciting young players in the Spurs squad last season, can play as either a defender or a left-sided midfielder, but with Gareth Bale as first choice on the left flank, his opportunities look extremely limited.

The Mirror claim that Tottenham are now prepared to loan him to either Wigan or Southampton, with both sides having enquired about his availability.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is thought to be concerned with speculation surrounding Maynor Figueroa, while Southampton are looking to bring in more options as they look to consolidate Premier League status next season.
