Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Frieldel is confident that if the club decided to part with Luka Modric then they would do so knowing that they could find a suitable replacement.
The future of the Croatia international has been the subject of much discussion in recent months with a whole host of clubs said to be interested in signing the creative midfielder.
Modric still has four years to run on his contract at White Hart Lane which leave Tottenham in a very strong bargaining position and should they decide to sell then they could demand a substantial fee.
Spurs turned down an offer of more than £30million from Chelsea last summer and they could decide to sell abroad this year with Real Madrid said to be keen on signing Modric.
However, experienced keeper Friedel believes that if Spurs chose to sell then they would be able to attract a player with similar ability.
“Knowing the way the chairman works, if someone like Luka Modric left the club, then they would have a ready-made replacement," Friedel revealed to Talksport.
“I can’t see with the ambition that the club has that they can let players leave without having a replacement. We’re not a selling club – that’s for sure.”
Tottenham proved last season they could compete at the top of the Premier League and despite a difficult second half to the season, they still managed to finish in the top four.
