Tottenham Hotspur defender Vedran Corluka, who has featured only on the bench for the vast majority of the current season, has surprisingly ignored interest from Italian giants Juventus according to his agent.
The 25-year-old Croatian international has fallen down the pecking order for a starting berth at Tottenham, with the emergence of right-back Kyle Walker consigning Corluka to featuring predominantly in the Carling Cup and Europa League.
Used sparingly by Redknapp, it seemed almost certain that Corluka would jump at the chance to escape White Hart Lane in the pursuit of first team football. However, Corluka’s agent, Nikky-Arthur Vuksanha, has revealed that Corluka will be staying put for the moment at least, despite media speculation linking him with Juventus.
“I am aware of the news about Corluka's possible move to Juventus,” Vuksanha revealed. “But they are just rumours around the player.
"In any case, well for the moment at least, he will not be going to Juve."
Corluka, a Croatian international, looks to have a serious battle on his hands if he wishes to remain with Tottenham, as the form of Kyle Walker continues to assist Spurs to their most genuine assault on the Premier League title in recent memory.
However, his agent’s hesitation suggests that whilst he remains at Tottenham currently, a concrete offer from a top European club could be enough to persuade the defender to leave for new opportunities.
