Newcastle United Linked With Move For Manchester United Youngster

Newcastle United are one of the clubs interested in the services of Manchester United’s young Norwegian striker Joshua King, the player’s agent has revealed.

The 20-year-old is yet to make an appearance for Manchester United’s senior side, but has already been capped twice at international level. Loan spells at Preston North End, Borussia Monchengladbach and Hull City have offered the lightening-quick front man some fleeting first team opportunities, but it remains to be seen if King will get many at Old Trafford in the near future.

Despite interest emanating from Tyneside, King’s agent Jim Solbakken doubts his client will want to leave the Red Devils just yet.

"I have discussed attacking options with Newcastle." Solbakken said, Sky Sports report.

"There are many clubs who are interested in Joshua King but he is where he should be."

King arrived at Old Trafford after being spotted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2008, but faces some heavy competition if he wishes to establish himself up front at Old Trafford. In addition to the fearsome quartet of Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez in United’s first team, new arrival Angelo Henriquez and Will Keane provide additional competition in the reserve and youth ranks.

Keane suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in June of this year, and is expected to return in the New Year.
