Manchester United Striker Vows to Fight for First-Team Place

Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has vowed to fight for a first team-place at Old Trafford, according to reports on Goal.com.

Berbatov has struggled to gain a regular spot in Sir Alex Ferguson first team and is battling the likes of Wayne Rooney,  Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Micheal Owen for a place in the starting line-up.

So far this season the Bulgarian international has only made six appearances for Manchester United with only three of them in the Premier League and at times he hasn't even been selected as a subsitute.

However speaking to reporters after this weeks Champions League clash, Berbatov said: "I want to get more chances because I know I can help the team.

"I'll continue to give my best to earn my place in the team."
