Manchester United Planning Raid On Tottenham Hotspur Following Redknapp’s Exit

Manchester United are reportedly planning a summer raid on Tottenham Hotspur following the departure of Harry Redknapp from White Hart Lane.

According to reports in the Metro, Sir Alex Ferguson is to be given the green light to move for long time midfield target Luka Modric, as well as unsettled wing wizard Gareth Bale.

Modric had been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer, but ultimately stayed with Tottenham following a reported ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Spurs supremo Daniel Levy.

However, following Harry Redknapp’s sacking last week, and the club’s failure to secure Champions League football for next season, it looks like the Croatian could be on his way out.

Following him out of the door appears to be Bale, who is believed to be considering his future at the club.

Bale’s agent recently denied contact from Spanish giants Barcelona, but did concede that failure to reach the Champions League has caused a ‘problem’ for the Welsh star.

With Manchester United missing out on the Premier League trophy on goal difference, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking to strengthen his squad this summer, and the Tottenham pair would be welcome additions.
