Liverpool Set To Miss Out On Uruguyan Playmaker

Liverpool look set to miss out Uruguyan international Gaston Ramirez, after it emerged that the playmaker was nearing a move to Internazionale.

As reported by talkSPORT, Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Inter have beaten Liverpool to the 21 year-old, as the Merseysiders put their pursuit on hold to thrash out a deal for Swansea midfielder Joe Allen.

Liverpool have been linked with the talented Ramirez for a number of months, with suggestions that at £15 million deal was nearing it's conclusion.

However, it appears as though Inter have pipped Liverpool to his signature, with Ramirez's parent club Bologna set to receive around £15 million, in either a straight cash, or cash-plus-player deal believed to involve left-back Juan Jesus.

While new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will no doubt be happy with the acquisition of Wales and Great Britain star Allen, who played under his stewardship last season, missing out on Ramirez could prove frustrating, given the player's reported desire to head to Anfield.
