Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is lining up a move for Basel youngster Nicholas Hunziker, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The 15-year-old is seen as on of Europe's hottest young prospects and is attracting interest from clubs in Spain, Italy and Germany.
Dalglish has sent Liverpool;s head scout Frank McParland out to watch Hunziker in action and the feedback has been impressive. The striker first came up on the radar of the Anfield club when he netted a hat-trick for Switzerland on his youth team debut.
It is believed Liverpool are planning to move quickly as the want to acquire the services of Hunziker ahead of Premier League and European rival.
Basel will not want to lose one of their prized assets but Liverpool will be able to land Hunziker on the cheap and are preparing to make a £4million offer once the January transfer window opens for business.
