Jonjo Shelvey is hoping that manager Kenny Dalglish will allow him to extend his stay at Bloomfield Road after becoming a regular starter for Blackpool.
The young midfielder was signed by Roy Hodgson at the start of last season and despite making a number of substitute appearances has found it hard to force his way into the Liverpool first team.
With the likes of Charlie Adam, Steve Gerrard, Lucas Leiva, Jordan Henderson and Jay Spearing all pushing for a place in the centre of midfield, Dalglish allowed Shelvey to join Blackpool on a short term loan deal.
The 19-year-old has already scored six goals for Blackpool as his impressive form has coincided with the seasiders pushing for a place among the leading back who are looking to gain automatic promotion.
Now Shelvey has indicated that he would like to remain at Blackpool beyond Christmas when he was due to return to Anfield.
"Blackpool are a good team with good players and I have asked Liverpool if I can stay here for the season," Shelvey told blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk.
"It is not that far from home and I think we could achieve something. I am really enjoying it here.
"Obviously I want to break into the Liverpool side, but I think playing at a good club gives me the best chance of doing that."
