Liverpool & Arsenal Target Holtby Considering Offer From An Unnamed Premier League Club, Reveals Agent

Liverpool and Arsenal target Lewis Holtby has been subject to several bids from clubs in England and Spain, his agent has revealed, with one offer from a Premier League club proving to be particularly appealing to the Schalke midfielder.

The Schalke midfielder has entered the last year of his contract at the Bundesliga club, and has been frequently linked with a move to the Premier League. 22-year-old Holtby would have been eligible for England by virtue of his Liverpool-born father in the past, but has slipped through the net, having been capped twice for Germany’s senior side.

Given his background, the stylish midfielder has maintained that he would like to play in the Premier League one day, and according to his agent, Markus Noack, a move to English football may be close to coming to fruition.

“For Holtby, there are several offers from Spain and England, but no proposal has come from Italy. An offer from Inter is just a rumour,” Noack told Italian news outlet calciomercato.

Although Holtby has attracted the attention of clubs across the continent, he has previously maintained that he is no hurry to leave Schalke, who inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Arsenal last week. But his agent has specified that a “very interesting” offer from an unnamed English club may have changed his mind.

“We are talking with Schalke for a possible renewal for another three years. Talks are positive at the moment, but the situation has definitely changed since several bids from Spain and England were made. Lewis is very happy at Schalke, but it is primarily a British club that has made a very interesting proposition.”

Judged to be one of the Bundesliga’s brightest talents, there appears to be no shortage of suitors for Holtby’s services. His dwindling contract suggests that the midfielder would be available for a cut price, should he decide to leave Schalke,
