Liverpool have finalised a deal that will see Sporting Lisbon teenager João Carlos join the club for £1million after agreeing a deal with the Portuguese outfit.
The 19-year-old will make the move to Anfield after impressing the Liverpool hierarchy when he played against the club in the NextGen competition.
Carlos impressed as Sporting Lisbon beat Liverpool in the youth tournament to finish top of their group, while the Reds finished second and will now face Tottenham in the quarter finals.
The teenager is said to be one of the best products of the youth academy, which in previous years has developed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Deco.
Sporting Lisbon prefer to keep hold of their best young players but are currently struggling financially and have decided to accept Liverpool's offer.
The midfielder has previously trained with the Sporting first team and is expected to one to watch in the coming years.
