Norwich are close to completing a deal for Leeds United captain Jonny Howson after the player agreed personal terms with the Premier League outfit.
Howson is in the last year of his contract with Leeds and would have been available on a free transfer at the end of the season, but it seems a deal should soon be completed.
Norwich are simply waiting on the result of the midfielders medical before a official announcement will be made, after the club had already agreed a fee on Wednesday, believed to be around £2million.
"Hopefully everything goes well with the medical," Norwich manager Paul Mabert told BBC Radio Norfolk. "But you can never be sure until it's actually done.
"We've known about him for a few years now having played against Leeds a few times. He's got great enthusiasm for the game and is a really good footballer and a goal threat."
Howson is Leeds' longest serving player having come through the clubs youth academy and has gone on to make 225 appearances for the club.
However, the club have been unable to earn promotion back to the Premier League and it seems the opportunity to play at the highest level has been enough to persuade Howson to part with the club so dear to his heart.
