Hughes Delighted with January Additions

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has revealed how delighted he was to be able to bring Djibril Cisse and Bobby Zamora to the club as he looks to guide the club to safety.

The west London club brought six new players to the club during the January transfer window and is pleased to have brought players with Premier League experience to the club.

The pair of forwards cost around £10million but Hughes is confident that they can provide the goals that will help QPR move away from the relegation zone and remain in the Premier League.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing them play together, they've got great qualities that will complement each other," Hughes told Sky Sports.

"I think Bobby enjoyed his time under me at Fulham. The type of work we gave him helped him and we supported him when he was out through injury.

"When he came back in the second half of last season he was exceptional and was a big reason why we ended up eighth in the Premier League.

"If he can have a similar impact in the second half of this season that will augur well for us because we need to win games and score goals, that's why he is here."

The former Liverpool striker has a proven track record having scored close to 100 league goals while playing Ligue 1, while he struck an impressive 53 goals in just 61 league games for Panathinaikos.

With spells at Liverpool and Sunderland, Cisse knows the Premier League well, while Zamora has spent much of his career plying his trade at the very top level of English football.

Cisse has already opened his account for QPR as his goal helped the club earn a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa and Zamora will be looking to have a similar impact should he start the clubs next league game against Wolves.
