Fiorentina Made Second Offer for Arsenal Striker

Fiorentina are hoping that their second offer for Marouane Chamakh will be accepted by Arsenal as they look to bolster their forward options for next season.

The former Bordeaux striker has endured a torrid time at the Emirates and in his two years at the club has failed to convince manager Arsene Wenger that he should be a regular starter.

Chamakh has already seen Wenger bring two new players to the club in Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, which will almost certainly spell the end for the Morocco international.

When he was first brought to the club he did enjoy a semblance of success as he deputised for the injured Robin van Persie, but he has since barely been given an opportunity.

The Daily Mail is now reporting that Fiorentina have made a second bid for the striker which they hope will be enough for Arsenal to accept.

Chamakh scored just once last season but he had been linked with a return to France where he still has a good reputation after a number of impressive campaigns with Bordeaux.

Arsenal could well have a new look attack next season with question marks over the future of Van Persie who has revealed that he will not sign a new contract with the club.
