Everton manager David Moyes is preparing to step his preparations to land a new midfielder and has set his sights on Benfica's Pablo Aimar, according to reports in The Metro.
The former Argentine international is out of contract with the Portuguese outfit in the summer and Benfica have announced they won't be renewing his contract.
The news has alerted a number of Premier League clubs including, Tottenham, Everton, and Blackburn.
However it is felt that Everton are leading the chase to bring Aimar to the Premiership once the January transfer window opens for business.
The Toffees are currently cash-straped and Aimar will bring some much needed experience to the Goodison Park outfit who will be available on a free transfer.
