Chelsea may not have appointed a full-time manager but that has not stopped the club from looking to bring in a number of new players with Barcelona starlet Sergi Roberto the latest to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have already managed to complete deals for Marko Marin and Eden Hazard, while they are continually working on trying to complete the transfer of Porto striker Hulk.
Romeu and Roberto played together for Barcelona B and the 20-year-old was reportedly first linked with Chelsea under former boss Andre Villas-Boas.
The Spanish newspaper Sport is reporting that Chelsea would have to bid as much as £6.5million for the Spain Under-21 midfielder who has struggled to break into the Barcelona first team.
Much may depend on the plans of new Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova who knows the midfielder well from their time together at the B side.
Should they decide to allow Roberto to leave then there may be a similar deal to the one that was agreed for Romeu who has a buy-back clause in his Chelsea contract.
