Chelsea in Advanced Negotiations Over £20m Deal for Tottenham Target Oscar

Chelsea are confident that they will be able to get one over previous manager Andre Villas-Boas by completing a deal for Brazilian ace Oscar.

The 20-year-old was believed to be on the radar of the new Tottenham manager but it seems his former club are now the favourites to bring the midfielder to the Premier League.

Goal.com has reported that Chelsea's offer of £20million is far superior to what Tottenham can offer and it seems Oscar could soon be leaving Internacional for the Bliues.

"Spurs simply couldn't and wouldn't compete with the numbers Chelsea are talking - in terms of transfer fee and wages," a source told Goal.com.

"Spurs really wanted him and thought their partnership with Internacional would help, but Chelsea are getting a star of the future."

The young midfielder is part of the Brazil squad that will travel to London for the Olympics and it seems he could soon be calling the capital his home.

Chelsea have already snapped up two highly rated youngsters in Marko Marin and Eden Hazard, now it seems they will be adding yet more youth to their squad next season.

Oscar could be competing with the likes of Frank Lampard and Michael Essien for a role in the centre of midfield where he has impressed for Internacional, scoring six goals and proving 10 assists in just 20 appearances.
