Cardiff Hoping to Persuade Craig Bellamy to Leave Liverpool

Cardiff City are ready to offer Craig Bellamy the chance to return to his boyhood club after it was revealed they are considering making an offer for the Liverpool striker.

Bellamy was a Cardiff fan growing up and did enjoy a previous spell with the club when he was sent on-loan from Manchester City.

Wales Online has reported that while there has been no official approach for Bellamy, Cardiff manager Malky Mackay is keen to bring the forward back to the club for next season.

Mackay tried to sign Bellamy last summer, but he instead decided to return to another former club in Liverpool where he was forced to spend plenty of time on the substitutes bench.

Behind both Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in the pecking order at Liverpool, Bellamy was never able to get a run in the side under Kenny Dalglish.

However, with Brendan Rodgers now in charge he may hope to persuade the former Swansea manager that he deserves an opportunity in the first team.

Bellamy previously scored 11 goals in his time at Cardiff and there is a belied that Mackay will enquire about his availability for next season.
