Dimitar Berbatov has revealed how unhappy he is with the situation at Manchester United after failing to agree a move away from the club because of a supposed £10million fee placed on him by Sir Alex Ferguson.
United signed Berbatov on a new one year contract last season but it had been assumed that he would be able to find another club in the summer.
However, there have been reports that United are asking for too much money and that there has been a lack of interest in the 31-year-old who struggled to make an impact in the first team last season.
Berbatov fell behind in the pecking order with Ferguson instead preferring to use the trio of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez was usefully the man given the opportunity from the bench.
United paid £30.75million for the striker from Tottenham back in 2008 and despite having some success with the club he has since been forced the vast majority of his time on the substitutes bench.
Berbatov has now revealed that he has held further talks with Ferguson and it seems he may be available for as little as £5million.
"Because i am tired of speculation,i am telling you this. I read the papers and i see they say 10 million pounds is my price," Berbatov wrote on his official Facebook page.
I go and talk with Sir Alex, and he says to me 5 million..So who is telling the truth, what do you think??..And the truth is, I love this club, but i am not going to be useful to anyone, if i am not playing.
"And i want to play, i want to help. But for unknown reasons its not going to happen, or my chances will be limited, so it's better for everyone if we say goodbye.
"If not, i am professional and i will keep doing everything i can, to help my team and my teammates, whenever i have opportunity to do so."
