Aston Villa Prepare to Make Shock Move for Republic of Ireland International

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish is preparing to bring former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane to Villa Park on a two month loan during the MLS off season, according to reports on talkSPORT.co.uk.

Keane left Tottenham in the summer to join LA Galaxy and helped his side win the MLS Championship.

The Republic of Ireland international has attracted interest from Aston Villa boss McLeish who is determined to acquire the services of Keane for two-months as there will be limited funds available at Villa Park during the January transfer window.

Keane would be open to a move back to the Premier League during the MLS break in order to keep up his match fitness ahead of Euro 2012 before the MLS season starts again in March.

Aston Villa and LA Galaxy have been in talks with regards to a move for Keane, but a deal is yet to be finalised.
