Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that the deal to sign Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud is now '90 per cent' complete as the French boss looks to add yet more attacking options to his squad.
The Gunners have already signed Lukas Podolski from Cologne and it seems as though the German striker could well be lining up alongside Giroud at the Emirates next season.
It is the first time that Wenger has actually spoken about the deal for the striker who last season scored 25 goals in all competitions as Montpellier won the Ligue 1 title.
"Giroud didn't play much (at the Euros so far), but he's going to be an Arsenal player 90 per cent next season." Wenger said on French television station TF1, as reported on Sky Sports.
"I think he has exceptional potential and will integrate very well in our collective and our way of playing. He is a real team player and knows how to combine with other players and I'm sure he will do well with us."
The long-standing Arsenal boss is working as a pundit during Euro 2012 and also revealed how pleased he was with the form of Podolski who celebrated his 100th cap with a goal against Denmark.
"Podolski did a great job for the German team, he has superb team work," added Wenger. "He plays in a cautious way sometimes, but he's still scored a very important goal against Denmark for his 100th cap. I am very happy with what I've seen from him."
