Inter Milan midfielder Ricky Alvarez could be set to leave Inter Milan in the January transfer window, putting Arsenal and Manchester United on alert.
The Argentina international was the subject of intense transfer speculation throughout the summer before he opted for a move to Inter over Arsenal.
Alvarez was left in the stands for Saturday's 0-0 draw with Roma and according to TMW, his agent Marcelo Simonian will look to engineer a move away from the San Siro in January if his client's playing time does not increase.
The initial move is likely to be a loan although the possibility of a permanent switch cannot be ruled out.
Arsenal will be particularly interested and will feel confident they can land Alvarez if he leaves Inter. Prior to his move to Italy, the former Velez-Sarsfield star claimed a move to the Gunners would be a dream come true.
He wrote: "I would love to play for Arsenal, it would be a dream for me. God willing it will happen!"
