Arsenal Now the Favourites to Land French Midfielder as Bayern Drop Out the Running

The agent of Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila has made it clear that his client will not be moving to Germany after Bayern Munich ruled themselves out of the running for the players signature.

M'Vila has been consistently linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 side and has been on the radar of Arsenal for some time as well as a number of European clubs.

Bayern had been linked with a move for the 21-year-old but M'Vila's agent, Werner Baader, has made it clear that he is now no longer being considered by the German giants.

"We had contact with Bayern Munich over Yann M'Vila," Baader told French reporters. "He is not the kind of player they are looking for at Bayern. They are looking for someone in this position, but they want somebody with different abilities."

Two days ago the defensive midfielder made it clear that he would like to move to the Gunners should he decide to leave Rennes and with Bayern out of the running it seems the Emirates could be his next destination.

"I have heard Arsenal are interested in me," M’Vila is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail. "I like Arsenal and I like the Premier League.‘I don’t know what is happening with the clubs, but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been busy in the transfer market as Lukas Podolski has already arrived at the club, while negotiations with Montpellier for Olivier Giroud are also on-going.
