Arsenal are one of a dozen clubs that are interested in trying to secure the services of Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou, who is out of contract and available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The Ivory Coast international has refused to discuss the possibility to signing a new deal until the end of the current campaign, which has alerted a number of Premier League sides.
Kalou had fallen out of favour with previous boss Andre Villas-Boas and had been away from the first team, but has been in impressive form since returning to action under Roberto di Matteo.
The striker was handed just two starts in seven months under Villas-Boas, but under the Italian has appeared in all eight Premier League games and was instrumental in helping Chelsea overcome Benfica in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Should Di Matteo be handed the job on a permanent basis then there is every reason to believe that Kalou would look to sign a new deal and remain with the club.
However, it may well depend on who is appointed at Chelsea as it is obvious that Kalou wants to be considered a regular member of the first team.
