Arsenal Boss Will Continue Summer Spree As Van Persie Threat Looms

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will continue his summer of strengthening, even if the club managed to pursuade want-away striker Robin van Persie to remain at the Emirates.

The Gunners have already brought in FC Koln's Lukas Podolski and Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud, and as reported by The Sun, are preparing a €20 million move for Malaga star Santi Cazorla.

The Spanish international is the latest big name to be linked with Arsenal, in addition to Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila and 17 year-old prodigy M'Baye Niang.

Wenger has maintained his resilience over Van Persie's protracted move away, insisting that potential suitors will have to pay the £20 million valuation of the Dutchman.

“There is nothing to elaborate. The options are clear - we want to keep our players,” Wenger told the official Arsenal website.

“I would be happy for him to stay in the English Premier League - at Arsenal.”

However, Van Persie's future will not curb his plans for the summer, and as continued by The Sun, Wenger has called on Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis to explore the possibility of bringing in more players.
