The 55,000 runners taking part in this year’s Bupa Great North Run on Sunday 16th September will be laughing all the way to the finish line as title partner Bupa celebrates the world’s happiest half marathon.
The North East’s favourite comedian Patrick Monahan will be keeping spirits high throughout the morning before taking on the course himself. The 13.1 mile course will be broken up by Patrick stopping to partake in a joke with his fellow runners.
In preparation of the big day, Patrick has concluded is meticulous training at Bupa Running Towers, telling five jokes in five minutes. Oh, on a treadmill. It's only fair.
