Australia tormented India further on the penultimate day of the final Test of the series at Adelaide, reducing the tourists to 166-6 in pursuit of an impossible victory target of 500.
Though Virender Sehwag briefly sparkled, carving a typically swashbuckling 62, wickets fell at regular intervals, with off-spinner Nathan Lyon picking up three and burly seamer Ryan Harris two.
Meanwhile, as India's middle order folded, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman all played out what is surely to be their final Test innings in Australia.
All three men were accompanied back to the pavilion by warm applause, the Adeliade crowd clearly appreciative of their immense skill over distinguished careers in the five-day format.
Earlier, Ricky Ponting compiled an unbeaten 60 to continue his resurgent form and form the bedrock of Australia's second innings, setting up a foreboding declaration with truly mammoth lead.
Supplementing his first innings double century, Ponting seemed back to the poise that made him widely recognised as one of the best batsmen in the world over the past decade before the Baggy Green bowlers also unearthed memories of old by running through their opponents with relative ease.
