Peterson’s Manager Blasts Khan

Peterson’s Manager Blasts Khan

Barry Hunter, the manager and trainer of newly crowned WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Lamont Peterson, has launched a scathing attack on Amir Khan.

Peterson beat the Bolton fighter by way of a controversial points decision on December 10 in Washington DC, and Khan has been vocal in his criticism of proceedings ever since.

Levelling allegations of scorecard tampering, as well aiming barbs at the referee’s performance, Khan is desperate to secure a rematch as quickly as possible before moving up the weight divisions.

Speaking yesterday, Hunter slammed Khan’s recent behaviour.

We will not let these foul tactics take away from Lamont's hard work and monumental victory," he said.

"Khan blames everyone and everything but his performance and lack of ability to make adjustments in the ring for his loss.

“Each claim is boldly false, but because Golden Boy [Khan's promoters] and Khan have the financial resources to file protests and lawyers to create questionable accusations we are forced to address these issues."
