Pacquiao Taking it Personal as Marquez Showdown Nears

Manny Pacquiao appears more determined than ever as he prepares for his third clash with Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez which takes place in Las Vegas on November 12.

The pound-for-pound king drew with Marquez in 2004 before winning a closely fought contest on split decision four years later and it appears as though Pacquiao is taking this contest personally.

The Filipino congressman is currently in training at the Wild Card gym with  Freddie Roach and he is ready to set the record straight when the pair clash for a third time.

"I'm not upset, but I get excited because he's claiming that he won the fights," said Pacquiao. "That's why I train hard, because I want to end this, all the doubts. This is our last fight."

Marquez has always claimed that he won both fights and recently travelled to the Phillipines wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with 'We Were Robbed'.

This appears to have further encouraged Pacquiao who has knocked down the Mexican fighter four times across the two previous fights.

"It seems personal to him because he talks too much, and he needs to prove it," said the 32-year-old. "He talks a lot, and it's not good for a fighter to talk a lot without action. Me, I don't talk a lot. I just do some action."

Roach also admits that his fighter is looking in superb shape and believes the bout could be over long before the 12th round.

"I don't think this fight is going to go six rounds," said the man who also trains Amir Khan. "With Manny's footwork, he's just a completely different animal to the guy that fought Marquez the first time. (Marquez) has gotten up against Manny before, but I don't think he's going to be able to get up from the power Manny has now.

"He's a much stronger guy than he was at those smaller weight classes. He's just a completely different animal. We can put it to bed, finally shut them up, and be happy."
