Haye's Ring Return Put in Doubt

David Haye's proposed return to the ring has been put in doubt as a possible mega-fight with Vitali Klitschko now appears a long way from being arranged.

Hayelast month admitted that he would be prepared to return to the ring to face either the WBC champion, Vitali, or in order to bring and avenge his loss to the WBA, WBO and IBF champion Wladimir.

Talks between the two camps had already opened but they seem to have stalled with Haye's trainer Adam Booth suggesting that Vitali is simply using the Londoner's name to boost publicity.

"Vitali piped up saying he wants to fight and since then I have had communication with them, but the contract from them has been much less forthcoming than the propaganda Vitali has been spouting," Booth told Sky Sports.

"It's in their hands. As far as I am concerned all the points have been agreed verbally, but subsequently Vitali came out and said the fight was 'miles away' from being made. I don't understand why he would say that. Maybe they are just using David's name just to get some publicity."

The Haye camp has never had a good relationship with the representatives of the Klitschko's after the former cruiserweight champion wore a t-shirt showing him holding the decapitated heads of both brothers.

This has led to Booth not being surprised that negotiations are being dragged out as deals between the trio of fighters have often fallen through.

"Until they send the contract and until it is signed, I will try not to waste too much time on it because you have to remember, I have negotiated with them four times now and there has only been one fight," added Booth.

"They probably say the same about us, but they are the hardest people I have ever dealt with."
