Carl Froch is close to agreeing a world title fight with IBF super-middleweight champion Lucian Bute.
Froch, the former WBC champion, lost his belt to Andre Ward in the Super Six final in Atlantic City in December, but vowed to get back in the ring and fight for another title.
And according to the 34-year-old's promoter Eddie Hearn, a bout with Bute has been agreed in principle and should be confirmed shortly.
"We have pencilled in 14 April in Montreal and 4 August in Nottingham for the 'home-and-away' bouts.
"I don't see why we can't get this boxed off in the next week or so."
Froch, who has not fought on home soil in five fights since defeating Andre Dirrell in Nottingham in October 2009, is desperate to return to Britain soil and perform in front of local fans.
