Now that's a whole tenth of a second slower than the world recordhe set last summer at the Beijing Olympics, and two hundredths of a second behind the world best mark this season set by America's Tyson Gay. There are some within the world of track and field who believe Gay, the American who won the 100, 200 and 4 x 100 metres relay gold medals at the world championships in Osaka in 2007, may spring a surprise and beat the happy Jamaican.It's your call, but let me leave with you these thoughts: it was cold and rainingat the Stade de France, Bolt made an atrocious start in his race, and he admitted later he was going easy because with the world championships in Berlin just three weeks away, now is not the time to pick up an injury - hence the "disappointing" time of 9.79 seconds.
